The Dessy Group was originally known as A & M Rosenthal, established 1939.
Our founder Margot Rosenthal is credited with the veil and attendants headpieces in this Modern Bride photo at the Plaza Hotel NYC 1949. In the 1950’s, her daughter Ronnie and Ronnie’s husband Andrew took over the business and added bridesmaid dresses to the Dessy lines.
Now known as The Dessy Group, the business continues as a leading manufacturer of bridesmaid dresses, social occasion, flowergirls and destination wedding gowns under the labels Dessy Collection, After Six, Alfred Sung and After Six Wedding Dresses.
Dessy Group has been leveraging technology in the wedding online space since 1995 when they built their first web site on a cheap Linux box with a very expensive T1 connection.
Today, Dessy Group has several web properties. In addition to it’s flagship site dessy.com, Dessy Group also operates aftersix.com, bridesmaid.com, wedbits.com, newlymaid.com and an extensve B2B site, customsamples.com for it’s retailers in North America, Europe and Australia.
In addition, Dessy Group recently launched techbrides.com, a destination for authoritative, non-biased information on new technologies to aid in the planning and execution of weddings and other large-scale events.
